wikispaces

Tomorrow, June 24 at 10am PST, we’re holding our second Introduction to Wikispaces webinar. Our first one last month was a lot of fun and very rewarding as participants learned how to get started with their wiki and left being able to edit, personalize and manage it.

If you’re new to wikis, and are looking for some help in getting started, we encourage you to attend tomorrow’s webinar. We’ll help you edit your wiki, teach you about the permissions and settings on your wiki, show you how to manage members on your wiki, and answer your questions.

For more information and to register for the event, visit: http://wikispacesintro0906-4.eventbrite.com/. We look forward to seeing you there.

Update: If you missed the event or would like to watch it again, you can find a recording of it here: https://sas.elluminate.com/site/external/jwsdetect/playback.jnlp?psid=2009-06-24.0530.D.CA090BE1CFC3C94CF7321D6A717393.vcr

    mary_barefoot,

You can change the text in the navigation bar by clicking on “edit navigation” in the sidebar. When you do this, you’ll be taken to a wikipage containing an “include PageList” box. This automatically places new pages from your wiki in the navigation bar. Delete this.

List the pages you would like in the navigation bar and link each entry on the list to its corresponding page, just as you would add any other link to your space. When you list them, you can change Communication Skills to Comm. Skills.

Save the page and you will see the changes in your navigation bar. You can e-mail us at help@wikispaces.com if you need more assistance.

    Best,
    Sarah

How can I monitor my wiki pages to see If there have been any changes made?as I have over 300 pages It seems a bit daunting, or is it easy?

  18. on 01 Jul 2009 at 6:29 amPat

Can you change a basic Wiki to one for K-12 Education to remove the ads?

  19. on 06 Jul 2009 at 2:24 pmDebbie

    Hi Thomas,

There are three main ways you can monitor the pages. One is to go to your wiki and select Recent Changes. There you will see a list of recent edits on your site.

Another is to go to your wiki, select Recent Changes, select the Notify Me tab, and setup e-mail notifications whenever a change is made. You can also monitor your wiki via an RSS feed on that page.

If you have any further questions about monitoring your wiki please send us an e-mail to help@wikispaces.com.

    Cheers,
    Debbie
