New Webinar: An Introduction to Wikispaces

Last fall, we held our first monthly education webinar, showing you how to create your classroom wiki and hearing from educators using wikis in their classrooms. Several months ago, we began holding Private Label webinars, introducing you to our Wikispaces Private Label service and letting you see how others use it in their schools, companies, and organizations.

Many of you who attended these webinars let us know what you thought, what you enjoyed and what you would like to see in the future. Based on your feedback, we are beginning a new webinar series this month – An Introduction to Wikispaces. This webinar is designed for new users looking to get started with their wiki. We will introduce you to basic features of your wiki, such as editing pages, adding media and calendars, and inviting others to collaborate with you. Our webinars are free and open to everyone and we look forward to seeing you there.

Our first Introduction to Wikispaces webinar will be on Thursday, May 28th at 2pm PST/5pm EST. To register for the event, visit: http://wikispacesintro0905-4.eventbrite.com/.

Hi , I am unable to view the webinar at 2 on 5/28. Is there a place to read the contents after it occurs? Thanks, LD

Yes, me, too. I’m so sorry I missed this one; I certainly could use it as I’m totally new to this wiki experience . When or how could i see it again? Thank you!

Are there pre-built templates that can be used?

    Hi Elna,

There are no pre-built page templates. However, you can create a template from any page on your wiki by going to the wiki, selecting Manage Wiki, and selecting Templates.

Regarding the Look and Feel of your wiki, you can change to a variety of default themes by going to the Manage Wiki page, selecting Look & Feel, and selecting the Change link in the Theme section.

    Cheers,
    Debbie
