Join us this January 22 at 5pm PST for our next education webinar. We will show you how to get started with a wiki in your classroom and hear from Chris Bell, Technology Project Manager at the Julian Charter School, as he shows us how he has brought wikis into his school with Wikispaces Private Label.
Our webinar will be held in our Elluminate room. If you haven’t used Elluminate before, you can check that your system is compatible beforehand on Elluminate’s support page.
Come with your questions and suggestions for us and other teachers. We look forward to seeing you there.

I would like to start a Wiki in the library of an elementary school. At present I would like to tie it in with the Picturing America project. I signed in for a site that could be publicly viewed & edited by members. If this is a problem with administration, can I change it to a wiki that can only be viewed & edited by members?
Hello. I am looking forward to sitting in on the webinar and learning all about wikis! I just started mine up with my students and it has led to some great discussion in our classroom.
Will this be an audio presentation or will it require the use of a webcam to participate as well?
Cheers!
Lee W.
Looking forward to learning more about how to use this with my students
Lee,
You won’t need a webcam and will only need a microphone if you actually want to speak during the presentation. If you want to ask us questions, you can also use the chat feature that will be available.
Best,
Sarah
have you got any podcasts that would be helpful for a wiki beginner
hi!
i almost missed the last webinar, logged in very late. missed out the time details. can i know when is the next webinar. I recently used the wikispaces for collaborative inputs on assignments with the graduate students. still in the processes.
i wanted to know whether it is possible to create sub-pages on a particular page. as iam collaborating responses of students on one single page, it seems too huge on one page. pl. suggest.
Hi Bina,
Yes, as a K-12 educator, you can get a free Plus wiki, which allows you to make your wiki private at any time. You can change your wiki permissions by going to “Manage Wiki” and “Permissions.” There you can set your site to private.

Sarah
Hi Bob,
A good place to begin is to go to http://www.wikispaces.com/site/tour to see how to begin editing and using your wiki.
Best,
Sarah
Hi Jyoti,
The next education webinar will be on April 13th at 4pm Pacific Standard Time. You can find information about it and register by going to http://wikispacesineducation0904-2.eventbrite.com .
You can create sub-pages on a particular page. To do this, edit a main index page and type a list of the pages you want as sub-pages. You can then highlight the text, click on our link tool in the toolbar, and link to the sub-page. Once you do this for every page in your list, save the page and you will see a list linking to your sub-pages.
If you need more assistance, let us know.
Best,
Sarah
