Thank you all so much for providing this very valuable tech tool free to teachers!

I have wanted to start a site for my classes to use since I started teaching last year but didn’t know enough about “building” a site and never found the time. When I read about Wikispace and your offer to teachers, I figured it wouldn’t get any easier than that!

Building my site was SO easy and SO quick! And maintaining it is not only easy as well, but fun too! Now, I’m constantly on the lookout for things that can add value for my classroom teaching and help my kids have all the “extra” help they need.

Thank you so much – not many businesses make such commitments to education! Your support is so valued and so necessary!

Folks, this is an exciting opportunity. I’ve just signed up and I’m expecting the blessing of my principal to use this in my Gr. 8 classroom. I’ll go through the tutorials and see what’s what. I would love to hear from any Gr. 8 teachers to hear how it’s being used for instructional purposes.

I am an English Instructional Coach and would really like to use my Wiki site for both Professional Development activities for teachers and with students; however, the district would require that I do so without ads due to influence with students. Is it possible for me to get a free upgrade as I am a teacher and would qualify for your K-12 program?

This week I will send out wiki invites to join a space dedicated to my school department. I cannot wait for teachers to take hold of this in my school and open up discussions with students using wikis. Thanks for making this technology so accessible.

I learned about wikispaces through my professor at Teacher’s College at Columbia University, Dr. James Frankel. I echo all the positive responses above and I urge you to offer more free wikis to educators. In my own practice, I have found that students are plugged in to youtube, myspace, facebook, aim, and so on, so when I introduced wikispaces, they were thrilled. They care so much about their work and their website that they constantly proofread and update their work. One student told me they spent two hours one night just working on their wikispace. I find that your initiative to give educators free spaces has revolutionized my teaching. As educators it is crucial that we plug in and use digital resources with our children lest we become victims of a generational divide. Please consider offering more wikispaces to educators.
