A Wiki Welcome
August 1st, 2008 by Jessica
Hello there, my name is Jessica and I’m the latest addition to the Wikispaces team. I very recently graduated from Stanford, where I studied Mathematical and Computational Science. When not busy solving all sorts of analytical problems, I dabbled in various arts- from photography and film to creative writing and improv theater- on the side. As someone who is passionate about both technology and art, I am greatly looking forward to contributing to the design and development of the site!

welcome Jessica!
Welcome! I am also interested in art, photography, and technology–but my studies were in French Literature.
Hi Jessica. Welcome to the crew.
I have having problems knowing how to use the wiki. How can you help?

Hi my name is Tony. I am an adult computer technician at Corstorphine School, Dunedin,Otago,SouthIsland. New Zealand. I love working with the children here at the school, which is a great school and has a heap of history attached to going back many years.
Hello, Jessica. I am a new user, and yours is the first message I’ve seen. I would love to “get to know you” because I’m a person who is interested in both art and technology, as well.
Welcome Jessica.Great to have you on board!
Jessica, I am also new to Wiki and will be trying to set up a page
Yeah a big warm welcome from me and my friends!!!
I want to add small pictures to my site but they turn out very large. I’m a Mac user, how do I adjust the size?
Thanks and welcome.
Elvis

Hi Jessica,
Wow, you must lead an exciting life! I look forward to working with you throughout the semester. This unit sounds exciting, I feel i will have a lot of fun with the assessment tasks. I have recently adapted a wiki in my teaching of the HSC. It is a great tool.
Cheers
Alicia
Hi jessica and all guys, my name is atik, i’m new user. I’m doing my master of education. Could you tell me.. is the title of Wiki Welcome created by you or provided by wiki. thanks. Ups sorry, I’m Indonesian so that forgive my poor English.
Elvis, we’d recommend resizing the pictures on your computer first before uploading them. You can also click the picture on your wiki page in edit mode and resizing them by dragging the corners in and out.
I am not able to figure out this space…I was lucky to figure this out alone…HELP
Lori, drop us an email at help@wikispaces.com and we’ll be happy to help you get going.
Hi Jessica,
I am new at this so welcome!!
welcome to wikispace jessica!
Hi, guys. I am new at this wiki thing, too. Just wanted to say hi.
Hi, Lori…Not to worry. Everybody was “new to this” before we did it the first time (and I mean “navigated this web site”…NOT what that sounded like I probably meant…but didn’t. You ARE talking to ThankYouMrsCleaver, and though Eddie Haskell might have gone somewhere like that, she’d have given him a good talking to for it! OK?)If you click the blue arrow–pointing to the left– in the top lefthand corner of this screen you’re looking at now, it will take you back to the “Home Page.” In the first paragraph (I think) there is a blue link that reads: “series of brief tours.” I suggest starting with two minutes there for the “Step One” basics.
It’ll be a lot of fun. Milk and cookies, all around!
Hi,

Hello Jessica,
I’m trying to add a Shelfari widget to a page. I did it for blogspot, but am having trouble with wikispaces. Any ideas?
Thanks, Patty
welcome to the club jessica!
PattyMcC,
To embed the Shelfari widget into your page, get the embed code from Shelfari and edit your wiki page. You should see a TV icon in the toolbar. This is our embed widget tool. Click on it and go down to “Other HTML.” Paste the code there, save the embed, and then save the page.
Best,
Sarah
