A Wiki Welcome

Hello there, my name is Jessica and I’m the latest addition to the Wikispaces team. I very recently graduated from Stanford, where I studied Mathematical and Computational Science. When not busy solving all sorts of analytical problems, I dabbled in various arts- from photography and film to creative writing and improv theater- on the side. As someone who is passionate about both technology and art, I am greatly looking forward to contributing to the design and development of the site!

Hello, Jessica. I am a new user, and yours is the first message I’ve seen. I would love to “get to know you” because I’m a person who is interested in both art and technology, as well.

Elvis, we’d recommend resizing the pictures on your computer first before uploading them. You can also click the picture on your wiki page in edit mode and resizing them by dragging the corners in and out.

Hi, guys. I am new at this wiki thing, too. Just wanted to say hi.

  21. on 13 Aug 2008 at 7:45 pmWallyAndTheBeaver

Hi, Lori…Not to worry.  Everybody was “new to this” before we did it the first time (and I mean “navigated this web site”…NOT what that sounded like I probably meant…but didn’t.  You ARE talking to ThankYouMrsCleaver, and though Eddie Haskell might have gone somewhere like that, she’d have given him a good talking to for it! OK?)If you click the blue arrow–pointing to the left– in the top lefthand corner of this screen you’re looking at now, it will take you back to the “Home Page.”  In the first paragraph (I think) there is a blue link that reads: “series of brief tours.”  I suggest starting with two minutes there for the “Step One” basics.
It’ll be a lot of fun. Milk and cookies, all around!

    Hello Jessica,
I’m trying to add a Shelfari widget to a page. I did it for blogspot, but am having trouble with wikispaces. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Patty

  29. on 05 Sep 2008 at 5:41 amVincent

welcome to the club jessica! :)

  30. on 05 Sep 2008 at 3:15 pmSarah

    PattyMcC,

To embed the Shelfari widget into your page, get the embed code from Shelfari and edit your wiki page. You should see a TV icon in the toolbar. This is our embed widget tool. Click on it and go down to “Other HTML.” Paste the code there, save the embed, and then save the page.

    Best,
    Sarah
