Your New Dashboard

We just released several exciting and highly-requested features. I will be explaining them in more detail in upcoming blog posts. The first change, and perhaps the most obvious one, is your dashboard. When you log into Wikispaces you go straight to your account dashboard – a one-stop hub for information about your account and wikis. There you can move between your wikis and follow what is happening in the spaces you care about from the moment you log in.

On your dashboard, you can find:

  • a list of all your wikis
  • recent changes made to your wikis, including recent edits and new members
  • pending actions, such as space membership requests or subscription notifications
  • new messages in your inbox
  • what you are monitoring, whether spaces, pages, or discussion threads
  • Wikispaces news and updates

You can get to your dashboard at any point simply by clicking on your username at the top right of the page.

We are thrilled about this change and are already appreciating how much easier it is to organize and monitor our individual wikis. Now it’s your turn. Log into your account, play around on your dashboard, and let us know what you think.

This is good – just learning. My school teachers are using Moodle and I am trying to figure out the difference between the two. Can you put podcasts and stuff like that on here?

Am having problems uploading pictures – I want to crop one and no matter what one I try, the wiki thing says it is too big. How do I make it smaller?

I’m lost. How do I get into things?

    Confused,

Wikispaces.com is so cool. I can talk to all my friend when ever i want to. But the thing i don’t get is that when you want to add someone you have to put thier Username. What if you don’t know thier Username and you can’t get a-hold of them to ask them what it is so please e-mail me and tell me a different way to get friends on here Please and Thank You.

    Sincerly,

The directory in Wikispaces is very cumbersome. Would it be possible to program the directory so that you don’t have to start at the beginning or the end of the directory of 25,000+ wikis to view what others are doing and to get ideas?

For example, maybe divide them numerically (1 thru 10) and alphabetically (a thru z). If that is too many, then in groups of numbers/letters (1-3, 4-5, etc. and a-c, d-f, etc.

    Thanks,
    Jim

The dashbaord i sort of pointless. It is very limited.
I think there should be more features such as personal site statistics.

    Rutabega234,

We do offer pretty comprehensive statistics. Just click “Manage Space” then “Usage Statistics”.
