Wikispaces at NECC

This week, I’m off to the National Educational Computing Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. necc2007.png

I will be presenting Using Wikis in the Classroom with Vicki Davis on Wednesday at 12 noon. And I’m looking forward to reconnecting with many of the educators who have been so supportive of us over the last 12 months.

The buzz around NECC this year is really exciting and the blog posts coming out of the conference are already inspiring. And Wikispaces is being used to great effect this year by organizers, speakers, participants and observers which is always great to see.

If you’re going to be in town, drop us a note and make sure to say hello.

I’m listening to you at NECC now. I’m excited to learn about using WIKIs in the classroom.

You did a GREAT job with the presentation and the Interview that morning, Adam. I’ve shared my slides at my personal wiki - http://coolcatteacher.wikispaces.com . Thanks for some great collaboration!

Thanks Vicki. During the interview I particularly liked your description of the methodology you use in your classroom around your classroom wiki. I’m looking forward to spreading that around. I think it could be particularly helpful for many of the teachers I’ve talked to. And it was great to present with you too.

I was in the standing room only 12 noon session on Wed. I wish I had been able to have access to a computer and more time to learn about wikis and how to use them. You both inspired me to want to learn more so here I am reading everything I can find on the Internet to help me. I want to start the next year with a wiki available for my students.

I have used a Wiki for the first time to post “shoeboxes” my students made for an exchange program we have with Salisbury School in Maryland. We are in Bloemfontein in South Africa. I would love to know more about how you use the wiki in the classroom - the methodology you use in classroom around your classroom wiki.
