Amy Standen of Edutopia has written a thoughtful article about wikis in education. We spoke to her for the article and she’s also interviewed some teachers about their experiences.
It’s a really great overview especially for teachers interested in bringing wikis to their schools.

Wikispaces has always supported international characters inside wiki pages. Now, we’ve removed almost all restrictions on what characters you can use in the page names themselves, allowing non-Roman characters to be used.
For example, you could use the following wikitext link:
[[欢迎光临]]
And the page it links to would look like this:
