100,000 Wikis in the Classroom

Today, we’re proud to raise the bar on a program we started back in January: we’re setting the goal of giving away 100,000 wikis to K-12 educators.

These wikis are free, full-featured, can be public or private, and have no ads. The response to the more than 10,000 wikis we’ve given away so far has been incredible. Every day, we hear stories of students working together on their wikis in ways many teachers never imagined: collaborative essay writing, building study guides, sharing links and resources from across the web, and engaging in critical discussion. 100K is a big goal, and we need all the help we can get in spreading the word.

If you’re a teacher, visit our signup page to try a wiki. You’ll be up and running in under 30 seconds.

Know someone who might be interested – a teacher, librarian, journalist, technologist? Forward them this message or send a link about what we’re doing.

Got a website or blog? Help the cause by posting our 100K progress meter.

As always, we listen to your thoughts and ideas. Drop us an email at help@wikispaces.com. And stay tuned here for updates throughout the school year.

I set up a free teacher’s wiki at:
    http://memorial-school-technology-lab.wikispaces.com/

I then added another space to my wiki but it didn’t carry the free teacher attributes. Do I need to run all my pages off my one wiki or can I have multiple free teacher wikis?
Thank you, i really appreciate the ability to learn about wikis as I am a newbie to Web 2.0.
