New Feature Roundup
August 15th, 2006 by Dom
We’ve been busy the last few months working on some new features that may have caught your eye, and some that you might not have seen yet. The big ones are:
- Email Notifications - We’ve had RSS feeds for all of our pages and spaces for a while, but RSS isn’t always the notification method of choice. Now we’ll send the same information to you via email.
- Saved Drafts and Autosave - Never lose your work again because of a browser crash. Also, if you’re not ready to make a change live, save your progress to continue later.
- Image Alignment and Links - Greater control of image placement, including floating text around the image, centering images, and making images link to other pages or URLs.
- Page Includes - One page can include another to build a template like system.
We’ll post some detailed information about these in the next few days.
In addition to the above, you can now also:
- Delete your space logo and return it to the default (everyone loves that bonsai tree!). You can find this feature by clicking “Manage Space” and then “Look and Feel”.
- Lock pages so that only space organizers can edit them. Useful for keeping the home page or navigation pages the way you want them, while still providing open access to everyone. Space organizers can find this feature by clicking “Manage Space” and then “List Pages”.
- Get wikitext level differences for changes. In addition to the visual differences, you can now see changes to the wikitext code. This is useful when the changes don’t show up in the visual mode (such as changes to image urls, links, alignment, or style). You can switch to viewing wikitext level differences by clicking “switch to wikitext changes” at the top of the page that shows differences between versions.
You can always see all of our changes on the Changes page. Let us know what else you’d like to see on our Feature Requests page
