edublogs.org and Wikispaces
May 3rd, 2006 by Adam
A few months ago I met up with James Farmer of edublogs.org to talk about the work he has been doing to bring web tools to educators. He quickly impressed me as someone who was passionate about helping educators and the importance of open tools like blogs and wikis.
Edublogs is a free blogging service for education professionals. Since Wikispaces also has a strong educational bent, we decided to work together to integrate the two services.
Now every edublog has a corresponding wiki. We’re already seeing lots of enthusiastic response from our communities and we’ll continue to work together to get these tools in the hands of the people who can do the most good with them.
Thanks to James Farmer and the edublogs community.

It is a tremendously helpful idea! I have been working on a educational project, and sweating to put a wiki and a blog together - and none was able to answer my questions. Much love to you guys for always being on the edge and serving the growing needs of times.
On my blog, you can see that I have started working on educational projects. BTW, I am Ramla - founder of the quake-related wiki helppakistan.wikispaces.com. It’s been featured on Voice of America radio, and local media in Pakistan.
New to the game and completely unfamiliar with HTML. Your visual editors make this easier for those of us eager to get into wikis and blogs for the classroom, but don’t have the background in writing webpages. Plus, I haven’t had any problems with Spam.
I added edublogs last spring to my classroom website, and plan to start wikis next fall. I can’t wait to see the technology explosion continue to excite the kids.
